چکیده
abstract: enviromental concerns, improvements in renewable energy technologies, governmental incentives for the use of these resources, and increased t&d; costs, are the main factors driving the energy sector into a new era, where considerable portions of electrical demand will be met through widespread installation of distributed energy resources (ders). the virtual power plant (vpp) is a decentralized energy management system tasked to aggregate of capacity some distributed generations (dgs), storage facilities, and dispachable loads (dls) for the purpose of energy trading and/or providing system support services. due of stochastic behavior of the prime sources of some dgs, such of wind speed and temperature, the steady state analysis of the system with integration of such dg unit requires a probabilistic approach. in this thesis, a probabilistic price based unit commitment (pbuc) approach using point estimate method (pem) is employed to model the uncertainty in market price and generation sources, for optimal bidding of a vpp in a day-ahead electricity market. also, the uncertainty of stochastic dgs generation handled through increasing the amount of required reserve. the proposed model allows a vpp to decide on the unit commitment of its ders, and the optimal sale bids to the day-ahead market. the proposed optimization algorithm is applied to an 18-buses system and solved by gams.

Application of a New Hybrid Method for Day-Ahead Energy Price Forecasting in Iranian Electricity Market
Abstract- In a typical competitive electricity market, a large number of short-term and long-term contracts are set on basis of energy price by an Independent System Operator (ISO). Under such circumstances, accurate electricity price forecasting can play a significant role in improving the more reasonable bidding strategies adopted by the electricity market participants. So, they cannot only r...
متن کاملOptimal energy management of microgrid in day-ahead and intra-day markets using a copula-based uncertainty modeling method
Recently, economic and environmental problems have created a strong attitude toward utilizing renewable energy sources (RESs). Nevertheless, uncertainty of wind and solar power leads to a more complicated energy management (EM) of RESs in microgrids. This paper models and solves the EM problem of microgrid from the generation point of view. To do this, mathematical formulation of a grid- connec...
متن کاملEnergy management of virtual power plant to participate in the electricity market using robust optimization
Virtual power plant (VPP) can be studied to investigate how energy is purchased or sold in the presence of electricity market price uncertainty. The VPP uses different intermittent distributed sources such as wind turbine, flexible loads, and locational marginal prices (LMPs) in order to obtain profit. VPP should propose bidding/offering curves to buy/sell from/to day-ahead market. In this pape...
متن کاملCoordinated resource scheduling in a large scale virtual power plant considering demand response and energy storages
Virtual power plant (VPP) is an effective approach to aggregate distributed generation resources under a central control. This paper introduces a mixed-integer linear programming model for optimal scheduling of the internal resources of a large scale VPP in order to maximize its profit. The proposed model studies the effect of a demand response (DR) program on the scheduling of the VPP. The pro...
متن کاملA New Model Considering Uncertainties for Power Market
Medium-term modeling of electricity market has essential role in generation expansion planning. On the other hand, uncertainties strongly affect modeling and consequently, strategic analysis of generation firms in the medium term. Therefore, models considering these uncertainties are highly required. Among uncertain variables considered in the medium term generation planning, demand and hyd...
متن کاملOptimal Short-Term Generation Scheduling with Multi-Agent System under a Deregulated Power Market
With the opening of the power industry to competition, the power system structure is changing. According to these changes, power system operation, planning, and control need modifications. Under this deregulated power market, generation companies (GENCOs) can schedule their generators to maximize their own profit without accurately satisfying system demand/reserve, which is a traditional short-...
